    Huis van Gijn in Dordrecht is the former residence of Simon van Gijn (1836-1922). He was a banker, jurist and a passionate collector. He demised his house and most of his collectionse to the Vereniging Oud-Dordrecht, with the assignment to introduce the collection to the public and to convert the house into a museum. In the year 1949 the museum was handed over to the City of Dordrecht.
